Katherine is the CEO for Black Isle Asia, based in Hong Kong. Black Isle is a 30-year-old global consultancy with expertise in leadership communication, organizational strategy and people development.
Prior to joining Black Isle, Katherine was the Chief Operating Officer / Asia Pacific for a Fortune 50 financial services company. She has led global divisions in Strategic Planning, Human Resources, Business Operations, and Risk Management.
Katherine is a management consultant and executive coach with extensive global business experience. She focuses on developing leadership skills, optimizing performance, and managing change. Her expertise includes individual executive coaching, building powerful teams, influential communication, and creating an inclusive culture.
A recognized facilitator and negotiator, Katherine has coached board directors, executives and teams across industries and geographies to achieve strong outcomes, both for the people she coaches and their companies. She has a proven track record in global change management programs and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Katherine holds a MSc from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was a Sloan Fellow, and a BA in East Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia. She spent a year each at Beijing Language Institute (BLCU) and the Mandarin Training Centre of National Taiwan Normal University. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and professional Coach.
Katherine has been a Board Director for academic, health care and other business entities. On a volunteer basis, she runs programs in leadership and interviewing skills for local students.
