Darryl Parrant has 20+ years of academic, corporate HR and consulting experience. He started his career in academia back in his home country of New Zealand, where his research and teaching focused more on cognitive psychology, change and leadership behaviour. He had sabbaticals in Russia, Japan and South Korea. He then moved to corporate HR working his way up to the executive management team.
In 2011 he moved to Singapore to establish his own HR consultancy business, combining his academic and corporate HR experience. He built the very successful Align HR group of companies, which soon became a leading boutique firm in the private and public sectors (Align SMA Pte Ltd – Leadership, Transformation & Assessment; Align HR Consulting Pte Ltd – Talent Management; & Talent Owl Pte Ltd – e-HR and Learning Solutions) until he sold five years later. He then joined Willis Towers Watson in 2016 to head up the HR consultancy business in Singapore. Presently he is leading the Careers business at Mercer Hong Kong. Darryl has particular experience working with financial services, real estate, government, not for profit, education sectors, as well as the life sciences and oil and gas sectors.
Darryl has a wide range of experience in advocating and advising on D&I strategy and implementation. He has sat on several D&I related keynotes, taskforces and committees including yet not limited to: Hosting corporate Lean-In Circles – Woman in Leadership / Gender Equity Roundtables in Singapore; InterBank LGBT+ Committee member; Cognitive Bias Workshop Design and facilitation, D&I framework and Scorecard design, just to name a few.
Darryl partners with c-suite leaders and Boards to better position their future talent for success and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. His key expertise relates to driving the people agenda, D&I and talent strategy, transformation, executive leadership and succession planning – aligning to business outcomes to drive sustainable growth. Darryl is an expert on the new world of work, with over 50 keynotes and publications. He works with businesses to help shape their thinking and organisational readiness for the digital future.
